Is your computer up-to-date?
To use Lion, make sure your computer has the following:

Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
Find out if your current Mac has one of these processors by clicking the Apple icon at the top left of your screen, then choosing About This Mac.

OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
Get up to date with the latest version of OS X Snow Leopard to purchase OS X Lion. If you have Snow Leopard, click the Apple icon and choose Software Update to install version 10.6.8.
If you are running OS X Snow Leopard you may purchase OS X Lion for $19.99 by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. You will receive an email containing a content code to download OS X Lion via the Mac App Store.
If you're running OS X Leopard, you need to upgrade to OS X Snow Leopard prior to upgrading to OS X Lion. OS X Snow Leopard is available via DVD for $19.99 by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE.

If your computer does not meet these requirements, you will need to upgrade your computer before using Lion.
